Paediatrician and Paediatric Intensive Care specialist with over 23 years of experience in Paediatrics and Neonatology and over 12 years of UK experience in this specialty. One of the pioneers of Children’s Critical Care services in Eastern India with over 4 years of training in Paediatric Intensive Care in some of the best known PICUs of the world and over 11 years of extensive experience of setting up and running the Paediatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) of some of the most renowned hospitals of Kolkata, and training up new generations of paediatric intensive care specialists through regular academic activities and starting Eastern India’s first training course (IDPPM) in paediatric intensive care.

• Extensively trained in Paediatrics and Neonatology in the United Kingdom under the East of England (Cambridge) Deanery
• Trained in General Paediatric Intensive Care at St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College, London, – a world center of excellence for Respiratory Medicine and Sepsis. Trained in intensive care of Paediatric Liver and Bowel Transplant at King’s College Hospital, London – the internationally renowned center of excellence for Liver and Bowel Transplant besides being the regional Neurosurgical and Major Trauma Centre of the South Thames Region.
• Trained in Paediatric Cardiac Intensive Care at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London, – the largest center for child heart surgery in the UK and the only center in the UK to offer the full range of paediatric cardiac services including ECMO (cardiac and respiratory), VAD, Heart and Lung transplants, Pulmonary hypertension services and Tracheal surgeries.
• Trained in Paediatric Trauma and Neuro-intensive care at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, UK.
• Trained in Paediatric Critical Care Transport with CATS (Children’s Acute Transport Service), Europe’s elite children’s intensive care transport service

• One of the founder members and Past President (2018) of the Intensive Care Chapter of the West Bengal Academy of Paediatrics (WBAP-ICC) and the West Bengal Paediatric Intensive Care Society (WBPICS) / Society of Paediatric Intensive Care Kolkata (SPICK)
• Executive Board Member (2019, 2020, 2021) of the West Bengal Academy of Paediatrics, the state chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, the national professional academic body of paediatricians of India
• Started Eastern India’s first formal training course in paediatric intensive care (IDPCCM)
