Thrombocytopenia
Know Your Treatment
Thrombocytopenia is a medical condition characterized by a low platelet count in the blood. Platelets, also known as thrombocytes, are small blood cells that help with blood clotting and stopping bleeding. A normal platelet count ranges from 150,000 to 450,000 platelets per microliter of blood, and a platelet count below 150,000 per microliter is considered thrombocytopenia.
