Hyperoxaluria

Know Your Surgery
Hyperoxaluria refers to an abnormally high level of oxalate in the urine. Oxalate is a naturally occurring substance found in various foods and produced by the body. Normally, oxalate is excreted in the urine, but in cases of hyperoxaluria, excessive oxalate is produced or not properly eliminated, leading to its buildup in the body. This condition can increase the risk of kidney stones and other kidney-related issues.
