A cardiac pacemaker is a small medical device implanted in the chest or abdomen to help regulate abnormal heart rhythms, known as arrhythmias. It uses electrical pulses to prompt the heart to beat at a normal rate and rhythm when the heart’s natural pacemaker (the sinoatrial node) fails to function properly. Types Include: Single – chamber Pacemaker, Dual – chamber Pacemaker, Biventricular Pacemaker, Temporary Pacemaker.
