Desun Hospital, in collaboration with the Election Commission of India, hosted an initiative titled “Care Beyond Hospitals: Empowering Every Voter with Accessibility” at the Press Club Kolkata. The initiative highlights the importance of collaboration between healthcare and public institutions to promote accessibility, dignity, and equal participation in the democratic process.

The initiative, taken under the Election Commission’s Systematic Voter Education & Electoral Participation (SVEEP) focused on encouraging inclusive electoral participation, especially for elderly voters and individuals with mobility challenges. To support this effort, wheelchairs were handed over to assist voters at polling stations, helping make the voting process more accessible.

We appreciate Desun Hospital’s support in helping make voting more inclusive and accessible at the grassroots level.”

“ SVEEP initiatives are focused on increasing voter awareness and participation, and accessibility remains a key priority. True care lies in enabling individuals to lead dignified and empowered lives. Through this initiative, we aim to support a more inclusive electoral process by ensuring that mobility challenges do not hinder anyone from exercising their right to vote. We are proud to collaborate with the Election Commission of India in taking this meaningful step towards strengthening participatory democracy.”
