Desun Hospital Recognizes Outstanding Women Employees with ‘Desun Wonder Women’ Awards

Kolkata- Desun Hospital celebrated International Women’s Day with a series of events recognizing the dedication and resilience of its women employees. The hospital honoured outstanding women staff members who have overcome significant life challenges while continuing to perform their duties with commitment and excellence. These employees were presented with the ‘Desun Wonder Women’ award as a mark of appreciation for their unwavering perseverance.

These employees were presented with the ‘Desun Wonder Women’ award as a mark of appreciation for their unwavering perseverance. The following ten outstanding employees were honored with the Desun Wonder Women Award: Gouri De, Nursing Auditor, Treena Das and Piya Ukil, NICU Nurses, Salge Marandi, General Ward Nurse, Shreshta Samanta, Paediatric Ward Nurse, Sefali Paul from the Security department, Puja Saha from the Medical Transcription department, Lalita Halder and Pushpa Mukherjee from the Housekeeping department, Dolon Ganguly, a Lab Technician, and Housekeeping staff members Lalita Halder and Pushpa Mukherjee. Women consultants were also felicitated on the occasion.
As part of the celebrations, Desun Hospital hosted a panel discussion on ‘Work-Life Balance & Health – A Challenge for Modern Women’, featuring eminent Consultants, including Gynaecologist Dr. Aparupa Ghosh, Medical Oncologists Dr. Shreya Mullik and Dr. Debanti Banerjee, and Psychologist Ms. Anushila Dutta. Renowned social activist Ms. Nilanjana Chatterjee also shared her insights as part of the panel. The session was moderated by Ms. Asima Bhattacharya, Nursing Director, Desun Hospital, Kolkata. The experts provided valuable perspectives on managing career and personal life while prioritizing physical and mental well-being.
A cake-cutting ceremony was also organized, where all women employees, including senior management, participated to commemorate the occasion.
The event served as a tribute to the invaluable contributions of women in healthcare and beyond, reaffirming Desun Hospital’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment for women.
Desun Hospital also held a talk jointly with the Women & Gender Development Cell of St Xavier’s University, Kolkata, on cervical cancer and related issues, where Dr Sreya Mullik interacted with students and faculty members from then varsity, besides organizing a health check-up camp.
