September 19, 2026 Kolkata, 17.09.2026: Desun Hospital observed World Patient Safety Day 2026 on September 17, reaffirming its commitment to providing safe, high-quality, and patient-centric healthcare.

This year’s observance focused on the theme ‘Safe Care for Non-communicable Diseases’, highlighting the importance of preventing avoidable harm and ensuring coordinated care for patients living with chronic conditions.

The programme brought together senior clinicians and healthcare professionals to raise awareness about patient safety, early identification and management of health risks, safe clinical practices, medication and treatment safety, and continuity of care.

The event featured insightful sessions by Dr. Sujoy Ranjan Deb, Senior Medical Director, Dr. Sreya Mallik, Consultant Medical Oncology, Dr. Subhasis Neogi, Consultant, Endocrinology & Diabetology, Dr. Avik Karak, Consultant, Interventional Cardiology, and Dr. Madhu Priya, Consultant, Pulmonology.

Adding an engaging dimension to the programme, the Dietetics Department presented a role play titled ‘Danger Hidden in Food’, highlighting hidden dietary risks and their impact on health and patient safety.

The observance also emphasized the importance of healthy lifestyles, regular health check-ups, adherence to prescribed treatment, effective communication with healthcare teams, and early attention to warning signs.
