Tension Band Wiring (TBW) is a surgical technique used to treat fractures of bones, particularly in areas where the bone needs to be stabilized under tension, such as in the patella (kneecap), olecranon (elbow), and distal femur. This technique is commonly employed for non-displaced or minimally displaced fractures, where bone fragments are pulled apart by muscle forces, and the goal is to achieve stabilization and fixation of the fractured bone.
