Immune cytopenia

Know Your Treatment
Immune Cytopenia refers to a group of disorders in which the immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys blood cells, leading to low levels of certain types of blood cells. The term “cytopenia” simply refers to a deficiency of blood cells, which can affect red blood cells, white blood cells, and/or platelets. When the immune system targets these cells, the condition is called immune-mediated cytopenia. This can result in a variety of health issues, depending on the specific type of blood cell affected.
