Dynamic Hip Screw
A Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) is an orthopaedic device used to treat fractures of the proximal femur, especially intertrochanteric fractures (fractures between the femoral head and shaft) and sometimes sub capital fractures (just below the femoral head). This device provides stable fixation and allows controlled sliding to promote healing in fractures, especially in elderly patients with osteoporosis.
