Anterior Cervical Discectomy with Fusion and Plating (ACDF) is a surgical procedure performed to treat issues in the cervical (neck) spine, such as a herniated disc, degenerative disc disease, or spinal stenosis, which causes nerve compression. This procedure involves removing the damaged or herniated disc from the cervical spine through an incision made at the front (anterior) of the neck. After removing the disc, the spine is fused using a bone graft or synthetic material, and plates, screws, or rods are used to stabilize the spine during healing.
