Kidney stones are hard deposits of minerals and salts that form in the kidneys. Symptoms include severe pain (renal colic), blood in the urine, and frequent urination. Treatment options include:
- Drinking plenty of fluids
- Pain management
- Medications to help pass the stone
- In some cases, surgery or lithotripsy (shockwave treatment to break up the stones).
